The Planets Came Two by Two SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY (tm) is self-evident. What could be more natural than to suggest that the planets mean what they are and that they are what they mean? More specifically, SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY (tm) will show that the meanings of the eight planets in our sky form this simple matrix:
Venus, for example, means two individuals integrating (coming together) as Mars is two individuals separating. Where Mercury is integrated into everything (the universe of things), Pluto means separated from all humanity. Some astrologers have matched up Venus with Mars, Jupiter with Saturn and Uranus with Neptune. SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY (tm) continues these pairs, gives a full rationale for their being considered as pairs and puts Pluto with Mercury. The pairing of Mercury and Pluto is based, in part on the fact that: * These are the two smallest planets, * These are the two most eccentric planets (highly elliptical orbits) * These planets have the highest degree of inclination from the plane of the solar system * These planet are the extremes of the solar system, the first and the last.
If it Isn't Simple, it Probably is not Fundamental SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY (tm) assumes that any fundamental theory must break a subject down into its simple component pieces, often groupings of 2, 3 or 4 as above. From ancient times we have the dual concepts of yin and yang. Every year we have 4 seasons. We have 2 solstices and 2 equinoxes. There are four directions on the face of a compass. Our location on Earth is expressed as a combination of latitude and longitude. In the USA and many other countries there are three branches of government. The point is simple, our lives seem to break down into groups of 2, 3 & 4, etc. Astrology has traditionally been broken into small parts, often 2, 3 or 4 of something. While we have 12 signs of the zodiac, we have divisions of 3 and 4. The 4 types of signs are earth, water, air and fire. The signs also break into 3 groups, cardinal, muted and fixed. Aries is a cardinal fire sign, but just what does that mean. Isn’t there a better way to express these groupings? The problem with traditional Astrology is that there is no reasoning behind why the groupings exist. In SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY (tm) we look for the basis of the groupings. |
