Introduction

SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY™ is the result of thirty-three years of research into the underlying principles of astrology by Jeff Close which can be summed up by the phrase "The planets mean what they are and they are what they mean".

By examining the nature of the planets and other bodies of the Solar System, Mr. Close has been able to develop a view of astrology that any layperson can understand, while offering new insights and revelations to the seasoned astrologer.

This understanding of astrology finds expression in ABOI's Intrepid astrological software, which combines a state-of-the-art computational engine based on the accuracy of NASA's JPL astronomical database, with an easy to use interface that incorporates all of the features required by a professional astrologer, on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Intrepid goes beyond traditional astrology software by including modes of analysis specific to SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY™. These include "day per lunation", "lunation per year", "day/lunation/year per node cycle". In addition, Intrepid is the first astrological software to track the eight bodies that are the "upper harmonics" of the eight planets.

Scientific Method

In most fields of study, one makes observations.  After enough observations one begins to see patterns.  These patterns have a logic behind them that form definitive patterns.  From this theory comes implications of what may be true.  To find out if the implications are true one tests the theory and makes more observations.

This balance of theory and observations is common to most every field of study, but is not evident in Astrology. Until now, Astrology has been almost entirely an empirical field.  Observations have been made correlating the positions of the planets and human behavior. While some generalities have been made, there has never been a theory behind Astrology. 

New Theory

SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY™ presents a theory to answer these age old questions.  Like any good theory, it takes a complicated subject and shows that it has simple fundamentals that anyone can understand. It is a simpler and easier approach to Astrology.  The traditional interpretation of Astrology is not contradicted by SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY™, only refined in a much clearer manner.  Further SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY™ extends our understanding of many of the bodies of the solar system, especially the moons of the planets (aka natural satellites).
